WoW Upgrades - The
Item UpgraderUpgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. The
item upgrader kit used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which displays an

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the
item upgrading and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and several new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if the items come from another set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an item Level upgrade (

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them properly. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
