Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each
upgrade item increment provides an increase in linearity of any stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved through many different methods, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. In addition to this, many items can be reforged, which can increase their stats.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. Upgrade components are the primary method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade and some require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.
There are a variety of
upgrade item components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, are able to be put in any type of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and provide a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show blocked if you don't have enough of either.
The upper-right corner displays the number of upgrade components required to create a particular item. The price of an upgrade increases depending on the rarity and level of the item. However you can cut down on this cost by purchasing upgrades from a seller or trading them with other players.
The majority of weapons can be upgraded by a prefix like a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be upgraded by adding an suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the item's name, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They move to catch the viewer's attention and spur interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in communicating the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also enhance the retention of the message by triggering an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by a certain range. This is clearly displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount by the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum amount it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the item that you are enchanting.
The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
If you want to remove a glyph from a piece of then you'll need to save it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be salvaged with the glyph shards.
Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also add an inscription on your equipment to provide an additional benefit. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly rather than all at once. This is helpful for players who take lots of damage from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes that are placed on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from many sources, such as mystery boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Reroll tokens give the player a brand new random affix that is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will change the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.
Rerolling is a great option to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl is decreased by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This effect is most noticeable on Rings and Diadems as they have no other options to raise the ilvl.
Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to allow players to pay for it with cash or food items, which will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. However the paid rerolls aren't something that the developers would like to implement at this point in the game's development. They plan to add a potion that will allow players to change their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are several ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an
item upgrade is to increase the upgrade amount. This increases the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second is to increase the upgrade effect which increases the damage or heal of a specific stat. Finally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. After this the new item will retain its iLevel however it will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
It is important to remember that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However, there are times where a higher or more special roll may occur. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a specific kind of item, it's likely to receiving an upper level.
Upgrades can be costly Particularly if you're upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an
Best item upgrader will depend on the base iLevel as well as the number of levels to upgrade. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will be at the highest level of its upgrade track, and will unlock a bonus effect. This will give the
item upgrader kit,
Read A great deal more, a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased a value of +3.
Based on the item's base level and its upgrade route, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For example, an item that is upgraded from a rare or unique item to an exceptional one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
