Like weapons there are a variety of ways that armor can be upgraded however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection, and require a higher price in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.

First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place and removed, they cannot be reverted in the event that you own a piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the highest level of upgrades to your gear and ensure that you have the required materials to complete the process.

You can find the upgrades you require in a variety locations throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants, and even enemies. These are usually marked by a blue triangle or a gold circle and are available in large quantities as you progress through. They could appear randomly, but there is a possibility that obtaining certain upgrades will trigger a quest that will reward you with more.

It is important to remember that, even though the level that upgrades offer may differ however, it will always be greater than nothing. Weapons

Utility Items

Utility items are equipment which does not fall into the categories of clothing or armor and come with a range of capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, unlike weapons or armor. Most utility items come with a passive effect that players can activate by using them. However, some have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button or activating the skill.

The Flashlight is the most common utility item. It lights up the area around it. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to hover in mid-air when moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. Many utilitarian items can be quickly manufactured in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can also unlock the most powerful utility items by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items are upgradeable for more effective use.

Most utility items increase the combat ability of a particular character or give the player a sort of advantage in navigation. For instance, Sharpening stones created by the Weaponsmith increase Power and Ferocity and Maintenance Oils made by the Huntsman boost the power of concentration and healing. Other useful items like Writs and Theses created by the Scribe, can be used to give players either an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
