WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader kit upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item level upgrade [prev] used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the item upgrade's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item upgrader mod slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in many places on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via a variety of means that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with some new features added. After a player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true even if the items are from a different set of equipment.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
