World of Warcraft Item upgrades (

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can boost an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.
Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the variety of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.
The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It is also used to determine a gating condition when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.
When deciding to purchase or sell gear players can evaluate the level of an item. It's a good gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it's able to deal. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done by using the item level.
On PC, you can view the
item upgrading level using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item, as well as its value. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are many theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the amount an
item upgrade's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different benefits are valued differently and that gems found in sockets boost the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, because the size of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Stats on an item are a significant component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by the player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher costs.
Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage, special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to make them unique by putting a name on them.
At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using the arrows that circle. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.
In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it's a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.
Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to roll the attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, it will have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in the early game as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.
Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of an item, up to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..
The Luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has an initial success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases that chance by five percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the
Item Upgrader CORE client config.
