World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an
item upgrader lets players increase the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. This bonus could exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can do.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things inaccessible, unless you're extremely lucky.
Armor items can be upgraded to boost their stats. In the case of a helm or chest, this will increase the defense of its base, while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain when upgrading along with the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circular arrows within the menu for items. This will roll the
item level upgrade and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This makes it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you get out of each point of health you possess and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as often as you can.
To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and in order to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you're looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in the majority of cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a handful of friends.
You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets to let you sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a crafting table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the
item level upgrade's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI in which you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For example the splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display). The table for potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant, such as a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other
item upgrades, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades to trinkets are an affordable alternative to buying a new one. You can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
When the old Trinkets are no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries and then other items of gear they will not be replacing in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). When deciding which items to
upgrade item, players must also consider the class's preferred stats. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value, and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying new ones.
