World of Warcraft Upgrades and
Item UpgradingUpgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3percent of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same
upgrade item level through normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant risk that the item may become obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.
In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The
item upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive if you don't require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like dolphins). This item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is very useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of its non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an
item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each each time you upgrade an item it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost it will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to
item upgrader mod definitions. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. The player will need to bring every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs that are listed above.
