World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade of an item allows players to increase the gear score of an item upgrade to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example the perfect roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game, and to unlock each one you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the corresponding fountain and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in frigid conditions with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.

You can't upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also gain benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, if consumed, give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions, each with specific effects and durations. In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded, can be traded at will without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

The upgrade of a trinket can be an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. It can be done by players for just 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded once they're not needed, allowing a player to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them a popular alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their top-priority items first. Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
