WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrades by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item upgrader mod (why not check here) slot, and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular item upgrade level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less even in the event that they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut also, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade item route costs 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
