If the codes do not match the car will not start if the fuel pump or ignition is blocked.

While the Immobiliser will stop thieves from hot-wiring or starting your car, it's not foolproof and can be defeated by determined criminals. It is important to keep other sensible precautions in place, like keeping valuables out of sight and avoiding leaving them in the car when you're away from it.

A faraday pouch is a different security measure. It blocks the signal between the car's electronic system and the key fob, making it much more difficult for criminals and thieves to intercept and copy the signal.
